Issues of pension provision for workers of the EEU member states were discussed in Astana

Today at the Rixos President Astana held a Round table on the topic "pensions without borders in the framework of the Eurasian economic Union", where were discussed the issues of pension provision of employees of States-members of the Union.

The event was attended by deputies of the RK Parliament, representatives of the presidential Administration, Government, state bodies, International Association of pension and social funds, the NCE "Atameken", ALE "Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan", Association of business women, the Federation of trade unions, representatives of the Unified pension Fund, the State annuity company, State Fund of social insurance, etc.

Participants in the meeting were colleagues from the member countries of the Eurasian economic Union and the representatives of the Eurasian economic Commission (EEC).

Today, with the features of national pension systems, the governments of the member States of the Eurasian economic Union are preparing an Agreement between the member States of the Eurasian economic Union on cooperation in the field of pension provision.

Speaking at the Roundtable, Deputy Minister of labor and social protection of population of Kazakhstan Svetlana Zhakupova noted that the purpose of the Contract is equal rights in the sphere of pension provision, the protection of pension rights acquired by workers in the territory of States-members of the Union.

"Member state of the EEU shall ensure that nationals of other member States, the scope of rights to pension benefits equal to the amount of rights afforded to nationals of that member state on the same terms.

However, the adoption of the Agreement on pensions will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the commissioners and the competent authorities of the member States in the sphere of pension provision" - said the Deputy Minister.

Member of the Board - Minister on economy and financial policy EEC Timur Zhaksylykov informed the participants about the progress of work on the draft Treaty and its benefits for workers of member States.

 The need for the adoption of the Agreement on provision of pensions of workers of the member States of the Eurasian economic Union, noted the State Secretary – Deputy Minister of labor and social protection of the Russian Federation Pudov Andrey Nikolaevich.

By the way, the settlement of pension provision is of particular relevance due to the fact that today in the territories of the member States of the Eurasian economic Union legally employ hundreds of thousands of migrant workers.

The entry into force of the Agreement on pensions will provide the citizens of member States implementation of protection of pension rights acquired in the implementation of labor activities on the territories of the member States and will become an additional incentive in respect of the procedures for the legalization of employment.
