A press conference was held in the Central Communications Service dedicated to the recalculation of the state basic pension payment as of July 1, 2018.

The event was attended by Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan S.K. Zhakupova.

"The head of state in his message to the people of Kazakhstan from January 10, 2018, "New Opportunities for Development Under the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution," noted that from July 1, 2018, the basic pension will increase by an average of 1.8 times, depending on the length of service.

The amount of the basic pension paid by the state from the budget to all citizens who have reached the retirement age will be tied to the length of service and duration of participation in the pension system.

This change will affect all pensioners.

All retired people, whose number today is more than 2 million people, will be automatically re-calculated the basic pension at a time.

For first-time retirees, the amount of the basic pension will be established by a new method.

The recalculation will be made without demanding additional documents, as there is information on the seniority in pension affairs, and the period for which mandatory pension contributions were made is available in the database on the transfer of mandatory pension contributions, "noted S. Zhakupova
