Republican Mega Project in Kazakhstan titled “Reading and mathematical literacy: successful synergy”

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev constantly emphasizes the importance of enhancing the social status of teachers and increasing their professional reputation, urging the government to pay special attention to this matter.

On April 3-4, 2025, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Zerdeli Intellectual Development School organized the first-ever Republican Mega Project in Kazakhstan titled “Reading and mathematical literacy: successful synergy”. The project brought together 100 teachers of the Kazakh language and literature, along with 100 math teachers from across the country, who competed in this project. Five teachers of the Kazakh language and literature and five math teachers represented East Kazakhstan region in the competition.

The competition included two rounds: Round 1 – pair competition, Round 2 – team competition. According to the results of the pair competition, third degree diplomas were awarded to Akniet D. Ilyasov, a teacher of mathematics of School-Nursery-Kindergarten Complex of Samar district and Gaukhar T. Bibosinova,  a teacher of the Kazakh language and literature of Amangeldy Secondary School, as well as Aidana B. Kasymzhanova, a teacher of mathematics of R. Marsekov Secondary School of Ulan district and Zarina M. Tulebayeva, a teacher of the Kazakh language and literature of R. Marsekov Secondary School of Ulan district. The competition aimed to enhance the potential of teachers, developing their logical thinking and mastering mathematical accuracy. Such an event was held for the first time in Kazakhstan in the form of a large-scale competition.
