Laura Kurmantayeva, the Deputy Chief of the Office of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the interview program on 24kz TV channel.

During the meeting, she presented information on key aspects of the Council's activities and its role in shaping the country's judicial corps.

She outlined that the activities of the Supreme Judicial Council are based on the principles of openness, objectivity and transparency. All stages of the selection and appointment of judges are published on the Council's official website and on social media.

L.Kurmantayeva also informed about the composition of the Council, its main functions and the activity of the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Judicial Council, which provides training of future and advanced training of current judges.

The interview touched upon issues of disciplinary responsibility of judges, as well as optimization of internal procedures with the purpose to increase the number of conducting qualification exams from 4 to 12 per year and competitions for judicial vacancies from 2 to 6 times a year. This measure makes possible not only to fill vacancies in a timely manner, but also to effectively ensure the purpose of the Supreme Judicial Council as the body responsible for the personnel policy of the judicial system.

Laura Kurmantayeva also focused on the requirements for candidates for the position of judge, career advancement and the work of the personnel reserve, which helps to prepare the reserve and strengthen the personnel system of the judiciary of Kazakhstan.

She also spoke about the improvement of the work to ensure the openness of the Council. In particular, the Chairman of the Council, D.Malakhov, holds a daily reception of citizens, including judges. The Chairman provides detailed explanations within the competence of the Council.

The Supreme Judicial Council continues to work on improving the processes of training and selection of personnel for the judicial system of Kazakhstan, ensuring its transparency, independence and openness.
