In Ulytau, a guilty verdict has been issued against a local resident forillegal subsoil use and subsequent legalization of criminal income.

The investigation was conducted by the Ulytau region Department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA).

The suspect, from 2020 to 2023, engaged in the illegal extraction ofmanganese ore from the "Vostochniy Karazhal" quarry without a license or a subsoil use contract.

As a result, the volume of shipped ore amounted to more than 16,000 tons,and the damage to the state exceeded 1.1 billion tenge.

To legalize the illegal income, he entered into fictitious transactions, through which he sold processed iron-manganese ore both domestically and to theRussian Federation via companies under his control.

The criminal income from these sales totaled more than 3.5 billion tenge.

The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 6 years and 8 months in prison.

The court also confiscated his property worth 97.8 million tenge: 5 carsand a farming business.
The court decision has not yet come into legal force.
