A criminal case on the fact of embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale has been considered in court No. 2 in Aktobe.
Earlier, the Aktobe city Prosecutor's office launched a pre-trial investigation based on the results of an audit of the effectiveness of the use of budget funds.
During the investigation, it was established that the director of the Center for Road Safety and Digital Technologies of Aktobe, acting in collusion with an individual entrepreneur, concluded a fictitious contract for the performance of road marking work in the amount of over 272 million tenge within the framework of public procurement.
In fact, no work was carried out, and the stolen funds were cashed out and appropriated.
As a result, the State suffered particularly large-scale damage.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into this fact under paragraph 2) of Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement or embezzlement of entrusted property using official position, in a group of persons by prior agreement, on an especially large scale).
The case has been sent to court.
The court, having considered the evidence presented and taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the convicted customer to 8 years in prison with a lifetime ban from holding positions in public service, and the contractor to 7 years in prison with the deprivation of the right to engage in entrepreneurial activity for a period of 10 years.
The verdict has not entered into legal force.
