In Astana, President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennadiy Golovkin, held an official meeting with Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of  Qatar Olympic Committee and Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

The meeting was also attended by Husain Al-Musallam, Director General Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and President of World Aquatics, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Yerbol Myrzabossynov, NOC Kazakhstan Secretary General, Alimzhan Akayev, and President of Kazakhstan Aquatics Federation, Nurlan Zhakupov.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between  OCA and Kazakhstan in promoting the Olympic Movement and implementing joint projects, including the upcoming Continental Athletes’ Forum in Astana.

The event is expected to bring together representatives from Athlete Commissions of 45 Asian countries, along with senior officials from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and OCA.

Particular attention was given to expanding cooperation between the NOCs of Kazakhstan and Qatar, as well as fostering ties between World Aquatics and the Kazakhstan Aquatics Federation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing international sports cooperation and agreed on further steps to implement their shared initiatives.
