Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev held talks with Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel Amir Ohana. The parties outlined prospects for further strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Welcoming the Speaker of the Knesset, Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that Kazakh-Israeli relations are currently developing steadily across many areas. A constructive political dialogue has been established, primarily at the highest level. He also expressed confidence that the upcoming official visit of the President of Israel to Astana will give new momentum to the further development of bilateral cooperation.

The interlocutors also discussed the progress of socio-economic and political reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana praised the results of the reforms in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in all areas.

The Chairman of the Senate also highlighted the importance of further enhancing interparliamentary cooperation and outlined his vision for developing interaction between the parliaments in the field of legislation in the near future.

"At the initiative of President Tokayev, large-scale reforms are underway in Kazakhstan aimed at diversifying the national economy and improving the investment climate. In this regard, we are interested in the legislative experience of the Israeli Knesset, including in the fields of innovation, water resource management, and agriculture. A practical step in this direction could be the establishment of regular contacts between the relevant Committees of the Senate and the Knesset, as well as between Friendship Groups. We hope for continued dialogue between the parliamentarians of both countries," said Maulen Ashimbayev.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the prospects for promoting joint projects, including those related to the development of agriculture, the agro-industrial sector, the construction of modern greenhouse complexes and a drip irrigation system plant, as well as the modernization of water infrastructure.

The speakers also discussed the relevance of the agenda of the upcoming 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions on the theme "Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Sake of the Future."
