The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea have agreed to expand the timeframe for the voluntary exit program.
During negotiations with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea on reducing illegal migration and protecting the rights of Kazakhstani citizens, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan has reached an agreement to expand the timeframe for the voluntary exit program (hereinafter referred to as the Program). This program allows Kazakhstani citizens who have worked illegally in Korea to voluntarily leave the country without fines or re-entry restrictions. This opportunity will be available from December 2025 to February 2026, inclusive.
These measures are aimed at mitigating legal consequences and supporting those willing to regularize their status. The program does not apply to individuals who have committed criminal offenses subject to forced deportation, or to foreigners who find themselves in an illegal status after December 1, 2025.
To participate in the program, you need a passport, a voluntary departure application, and an airline ticket. Advance notification must be submitted through the Republic of Korea's immigration offices between 15 and three days prior to the departure date.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the MLSP) strongly recommends that citizens of Kazakhstan seek employment abroad only legally to avoid the risks of illegal migration, deportation, fines, restrictions on rights, and potential labor exploitation.
It is important to use only official and verified employment channels, including licensed private employment agencies, government programs, and official offers from employers.
The MLSP will continue its systematic work to protect the rights of citizens of Kazakhstan working abroad.
