Training a New Generation of Officers: International Conference Held at the National Guard Academy

The VII International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Development of Military Education in the Context of Ensuring Kazakhstan's Military Security” took place at the National Guard Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Opening the event, Colonel Artur Tokushev, Head of the National Guard Academy, emphasized:
“Modern challenges require officers not only to possess high combat readiness but also legal competence, leadership qualities, and strategic thinking.”
The conference brought together leading scholars, faculty from military educational institutions, representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as doctoral students, postgraduates, and master's degree candidates. Experts from Russia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan also joined the discussions via videoconference.
Major General Baurzhan Abzhanov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, stated:
“Our mission is to train a new generation of officers capable of effectively managing units and making swift, responsible decisions under pressure. Today, military education is not just about tactics and strategy; it’s about shaping the well-rounded character of an officer.”
Key topics included the legal culture of officers, enhancing military training programs, and expanding international cooperation.
At the conclusion of the event, participants developed recommendations aimed at modernizing the military education system, adopting advanced training methodologies, and strengthening the country’s defense capacity.
The National Guard Academy continues to set a high standard in preparing future commanders.
