Cash-only payment: are these sellers' demands legitimate?
12.04.2025 00:23:25 1515The Department of State Revenue of the Mangystau region informs that there are cases when individual entrepreneurs refuse to accept non-cash payments, demanding payment in cash for goods sold (services rendered).
Refusal to accept non–cash payments is illegal, since the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Payments and Payment Systems" provide for various payment methods - by bank card, QR payment or cash (Article 25).
For the refusal of entrepreneurs to accept payments using payment cards, administrative liability is provided for the first time with a warning, in case of repeated violation - a fine of 157 280 tenge (40 MCI) (Article 194 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
It is necessary to contact the state revenue authorities about the facts of refusal to accept non-cash payments (You can submit an application with a mandatory attachment of supporting documents via eOtinish, or on purpose).
When selling goods or providing services, entrepreneurs are also required to issue a fiscal receipt to the buyer. In case of refusal to provide a fiscal check, administrative liability is provided.
