Issues of energy infrastructure development were discussed

Deputy akim of the region and special representative of the President of Kazakhstan for the Baikonur Complex, Kairat Nurtai, along with deputy akim Ardak Zebeshev, held a meeting with Sergey Letyagin, deputy head of the Baikonur City Administration.
They discussed the potential of the electrical infrastructure at the Baikonur complex, as well as the development and use of renewable energy. Currently, there are two substations in Baikonur. The participants explored options for modernizing the energy infrastructure, building new power plants, and attracting investment.
The akimat of the region is actively working on developing renewable energy sources to meet international commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions under the Paris Agreement.
The region has nine solar power plants with a total capacity of 89 MW, three of which were established with foreign investment. Additionally, six projects with a total capacity of 201.5 MW are underway. The region has attracted KZT 62 billion to its economy and created 54 new jobs.
