On April 10, the staff of the Akmola Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Magzhan Zhumabayev held a literary and historical evening "Kara sozdin - Kalikhany", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding writer Kalikhan Iskakuly.

Kalikhan Iskakuly worked tirelessly in the genre of prose, having published many short stories, novellas and novels. His first story "Konyr kuz edi", followed by the works "Dos hikayasy", "Menin agalarym", as well as the novels "Tuyik", "Kara orman", "Aksu - zher zhannaty", which made a significant contribution to world literature. Kalikhan is a writer who confidently wields a pen and openly raises problematic issues in society in his works. A war veteran writer with an analytical mind and a skillful writing gift. He deserves that the younger generation knows and reads his works. The purpose of the event: popularization of the creative heritage of the writer and journalist. The moderators of the event were: Mayra Kuanyshkyzy and poet Ramazan Bauyrzhanuly, who told a lot of interesting things about the life and work of Kalikhan Iskakuly. The evening was interesting and informative. The guests of the event were students of the Burabay College.
