An inclusive training in a unique format was held at the dormitory of the College of Service and Technology. The event was jointly organized by A&A: IT-services & Education and the librarians from the department for the visually impaired of the Saken Seifullin Central Library of Zhetysu Region.
College students actively participated in the training and had the opportunity to better understand how people with visual impairments perceive the world around them.
The main goal of the event was to highlight the importance of perceiving information through the senses, to show how people with limited vision experience the world, and to foster empathy.
The training consisted of three stages:
Stage 1: Finding two images in a picture
Participants were asked to find hidden images in a given picture using their sight. This task focused on enhancing attention and observation skills.
Stage 2: Listening to and memorizing sounds
Participants listened to various sounds, identified differences between them, and answered questions based on their memory. This helped to develop auditory perception and memory.
Stage 3: Identifying by touch
With their eyes closed, participants used only their fingertips to recognize specially prepared tactile (relief) images. This task demonstrated the power of touch and developed tactile perception.
By the end of the training, participants were deeply moved and tried to understand the world of people with visual impairments through empathy. Events like this play a vital role in promoting kindness and understanding in society.
