On August 16-17, 2018 in Astana, the 7th meeting of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.A. Sagintayev and Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic M.D. Abylgaziev.

          During the meeting, topical issues of trade and economic cooperation, further plans to expand investment cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the transit-transport, water-energy, tourism and other spheres were discussed.

          The results of the implementation of the Protocol of the 6th meeting of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council have been summed up and further stages of cooperation in the areas of trade, transport, investment, energy, agriculture, as well as tourism and digitalization.

          According to the meeting at the level of the Prime Ministers of the two countries, the protocol of the 7th meeting of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council.

          In addition, within the framework of the Council, a Protocol was adopted to amend the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on border crossing points on December 25, 2003 and the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Economy of the KR.

          The next 8th meeting of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council will be held in 2019 in Bishkek.
