On October 14-18, 2019, Almaty hosted a regular meeting of the government delegations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Joint Kazakh-Uzbek Border Demarcation Commission.

The sides developed draft outcome documents on the demarcation of the state border at the section between the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan and Karakalpakstan of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the sides prepared and signed draft protocols of border markers consisting of 160 pillars, as well as a list of coordinates and heights of these border markers.

An agreement was reached to carry out field demarcation work in separate sections of the Kazakh-Uzbek state border in November 2019.

The talks were held in a traditional friendly and constructive atmosphere.
