In the framework of the “Spiritual Assembly” program, on October 17, 2019, a regional contest “Young Geologist” was held at the Aktau Actual College of Tourism to develop principles of active life for students, patriotic and civic education, identify gifted and talented children, and develop geological studies.

The competition was attended by 70 students of the district and the city, that is, students of all secondary schools.

According to the rules of the regional competition, the participants defended the work in stages.: “Why am I a geologist!”, “Mineralogy and crystallography”, “Petrography and minerals”, “General geology and engineering geology”, “Geoecology and Mangistau geoecological local history”, “Drawing and manufacturing of various products from stones”.

The jury evaluated the work of the participants in 6 geological zones:
I place - Azimut group, Mangistau region;

II place - Zhalinsky group of the Munai district;

II place - Tupkaragan region, the group "Geologists of Tupkaragan";

III place - Zhanaozen, group "Young geologists of Zhanaozen";

III place - Aktau city group "Ulu Tas";

The certificates were awarded to the Bolashak group from the Beineu district of Aktau, the group of the Mangystau regional specialized boarding school for gifted children with in-depth study of various subjects, and the ZhBIIIL group from the Zhanaozen educational and innovative lyceum in Zhanaozen.
