At about 19 hours and 20 minutes on November 10, 2019, at the checkpoint “Syrym” on the site of the Ural border detachment during the inspection of the Chrysler car, following the Uralsk-Samara route under the control of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan born in 1972, two traveling bags were found in the luggage compartment with freshly sawn saiga horns in the amount of 348 pcs. total weight of approximately 120 kg (preliminary estimated cost of 439.35 million tenge).

The detained citizen was handed over to employees of the Priural PD of the Baiterek region for further ctivities. This fact falls under article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Illegal treatment of rare and endangered species, as well as prohibited species of plants or animals, their parts or derivatives”.

Khorgos border guards also distinguished themselves. Thus, two citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan were detained in the border control department of the ICBC “Khorgos” for trying to smuggle 20 computer tuners and 148 mobile phones of various brands from the ICBC to the Republic of Kazakhstan. The detainees with the cargo were handed over to the employees of the Altynkol customs post.
