"House of Artisans" in Taraz will be officially opened as a creative hub in May

The city of Taraz was included in the list of the world craftsman city in 2022. Today, this list includes 57 cities of 25 countries of the world. On October 1, 2022, the holy city of Taraz entered this list as the 56th city and became the first city in Kazakhstan to be included in this list. It can be considered a spiritual and cultural event not only of our region, but of the whole country.

In order to raise the tourism image of the region, to make domestic craftsmen internationally known, in 2024, on September 27-29, 2024, the III International Festival of Craftsmen "Taraz - the City of Craftsmen" was organized. (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia (Tatarstan), India, Turkmenistan, France, Mongolia, China, United Arab Emirates) together with artisans, international artisan associations, experts, representatives of state and non-state organizations related to tourism took part.

Also, in the direction of development of creative industry, efforts are being made to add Taraz to the list of creative cities of the world UNESCO. According to the terms of the project, relevant information was gathered and documents were submitted to the Department of Creative Industries of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Today, 4 organizations engaged in handicrafts in the city of Taraz ("Oshpes Mura", "Kolner-Taraz", "Kolnershilash Odagy", "Sheber Shanyrak" public associations) and about 190 craftsmen work in this direction.

Entrepreneurs who intend to work are provided with comprehensive support in the implementation of their projects. In 2024, the "House of Craftsmen" began its work in the city of Taraz.

There are many opportunities for young people to learn from masters.

The official opening of the mentioned building as a creative hub is planned in May of this year.
