Tourism is one of the main industries of the region. Burabai resort is one of the three main tourist centers of the country. Last year, the amount of investments in the field of tourism amounted to 29.5 billion tenge, and this year this figure is expected to increase to 35.7 billion tenge.

In 2024, eight projects on the development of tourism infrastructure were implemented. In order to ensure the safety of tourists, 100 pieces of "smart" video surveillance cameras will be installed, nine observation areas, two cycling centers and 10 new picnic areas will be opened. In addition, work is being done to strengthen the signal of mobile communication and the Internet. Eight electric charging stations will appear in Burabay this year at the expense of private investments. A new precinct tourist police station will be built in the village of Burabay.

Also, the work of providing the resort area with engineering infrastructure continues. In the future, investment projects worth more than 60 billion tenge will be implemented in Burabai. Among them, a year-round water park in Katarkol, a modern visitor center, a hotel complex with an aqua park, as well as the renewal of the territory of Burabay Land and the dendrological park are planned. New tourist facilities will appear in the region: the Ak Bura resort cluster, children's and family recreation areas in Katarkol, as well as the development of ecological and agrotourism in Lake Zhukei.

These measures will not only increase the tourist attraction of the region, but also boost the economy: create new jobs, attract investors and strengthen the position of Akmola region as a leading tourist center in Kazakhstan.
