Kazakhstan and Indonesia discussed the future development of cooperation in the field of tourism and sports

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabosynov met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Mohamad Fajrul Rahman in the capital. During the meeting, the parties discussed the main issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and sports.
The minister said that he highly appreciates the current level of cooperation between the two countries and is interested in its further development. He noted that joint projects and activities allow to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Indonesia. Yerbol Myrzabosynov paid special attention to the experience and knowledge of Indonesia and said that its achievements in the field of sports and tourism will be an example for Kazakhstan. He competed in traditional Kazakh national sports such as archery, archery, and Kazakh wrestling. This, in turn, created a good opportunity to promote and popularize the national sports of Kazakhstan at the international level. Badminton sport is becoming popular in Kazakhstan year by year. In this context, Indonesia's experience will definitely help our athletes to achieve high-level results," Yerbol Myrzabosynov said. In turn, Mohamad Fajrul Rahman said that Indonesian citizens go to Umrah every year, and offered the opportunity to consider transit flights for pilgrims through Kazakhstan, especially Turkestan. This route not only provides convenient air connections, but also allows Indonesian tourists to get acquainted with the historical and spiritual places of Turkestan every year.
In recent years, the interest of Indonesian tourists in Kazakhstan is increasing. The opening of direct flights between the two countries will undoubtedly affect the significant increase in tourist flow.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to discuss air traffic with the aviation authorities of the two countries in order to facilitate the travel of tourists and develop mutual tourism.
