Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Togzhanov visited the West Kazakhstan region within the framework of the Prime Minister's task and checked the region's preparedness for the flood period. He held a meeting with the participation of representatives of local executive bodies and emergency services and discussed measures to prevent floods and ensure public safety.
First of all, he visited areas at risk of flooding in the city of Urals.
More than 480,000 cubic meters of snow and 55,148 cubic meters of melted snow water were pumped from the territory of the city of Urals. About 300 machines and more than 350 workers were mobilized for this work. Currently, the situation is stable, round-the-clock duty is organized. In order to protect the city of Urals from possible floods, a total of 12 were built. Their length is 11.4 km.
Besides, the Prime Minister's advisor visited the territory of Karatobe, Syrym, Burli, Terek and Shingyrlau districts from the air by helicopter.
During the flight through the territory of Syrym district, he got acquainted with the reconstruction of the bridge damaged by water near the village of Araltobe. An 8.1-kilometer water protection dam was built along the Ulengti River in Syrym district, including 42 water sluices.
After that, the advisor of the Prime Minister inspected the territory of Zhaksybai river, Korzhyn village, Karatobe district. Last year, 90 houses were built in the village of Korzhyn for flood-affected residents under the order of the Head of State.
After that, Eraly Togzhanov went to the Kaldygayty river in the center of Karatobe district and got acquainted with the works aimed at preventing floods. Due to the melting of the snow, the water of the Kaldygayty river rose, crossed its channel and damaged the nearby road. In this regard, 32 vehicles were involved, 60 specialists of the emergency service and 23 soldiers of the territorial defense service were involved in the elimination of the emergency situation. They protected the river bank with sandbags, dammed the water, and repaired the road. Today, 3.7 km of dam has been built along the river. In total, 10.8 kilometers of dams were built in the Karatobe region.
After that, Eraly Togzhanov flew along the Shingyrlau river and got acquainted with the works being carried out in Shingyrlau and Burli districts.
A dam of 3.5 km was built in Shingyrlau district, and a dam of 40 km was built in settlements along rivers in Burli district. Also, a total of 9,500 square meters of ice broke in the Shingyrlau River.
Last year, during the flood season, the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the West Kazakhstan region and the residents of Karatobe district 4 raised the issue of building a bridge connecting 9 settlements across the Kaldygayty river. At present, the project estimate documentation of the bridge is being developed and is undergoing state expertise. At the same time, in front of the village elders, Eraly Togzhanov expressed his support for the mentioned decision and would contact the relevant ministry to help solve the problem. Also, Yeraly Togzhanov noted that the local executive bodies are taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the people and are fully monitoring the situation. In turn, Yeraly Togzhanov instructed to monitor the situation in the transboundary rivers with the Russian side and to exchange information daily.
In general, in order to protect settlements during floods in the West Bank, a protective dam with a length of 143 km was installed with the funds of the "Support Kazakhstan Fund" and the local budget for 4.5 billion tenge, 9 km of water diversion channel, 93 km of ditches were built, and 74 km of the main channel was cleaned. 937.1 thousand cubic meters of snow was removed from the territory of the region.
29 hydro stations are working in the region to monitor rivers.
Also, 317 temporary accommodation points that can accommodate 32 thousand people are ready and 195 places for driving livestock to safe areas have been approved. in action.
