Flood Warnings!
15.04.2025 17:59:13 1558A flood is a temporary inundation of a significant part of the land with water as a result of the action of natural forces. This phenomenon may occur as a result of: * water discharge from hydrotechnical structures; * rapid melting of snow, formation of ice jams; * abundant long rainfall or short-term, but very intense; * water flows from the sea or large rivers to the coasts and estuaries with strong winds or waves. Flooding is predictable, which means preventative measures can be taken. With the help of sirens, radio and television broadcasting networks and other possible means, the population is informed about possible flooding. After receiving a flood warning, inform your loved ones, neighbors, help the elderly and the sick. The information will inform residents about the time and boundaries of flooding, appropriate evacuation procedures and recommendations. To save your home before evacuation: * turn off water, gas, electricity; * turn off the fire in the stoves; * transfer of valuables and property to the upper floors (roofs) of buildings; * close windows and doors, if necessary cover windows and doors of the first floor with boards or plywood. When you receive a signal about the start of evacuation, you should quickly collect and take with you: * documents (in hermetic packaging), valuables, medicines; * a set of clothes and shoes for the season; * food supply for a few days, then go to the declared evacuation point to send to safe areas. During a flood, if there is a flood in a village or private sector, it is necessary to herd livestock away from the flood zone to safe places as soon as possible. Take the nearest safe high ground and prepare for an organized water evacuation. It is necessary to take measures that allow rescuers to timely identify people who have been cut by water and need help: a) Hang the fabric on a high place during daylight hours; b) in the dark - giving light signals. If the water is caught in the field, in the forest, then it is necessary to go to high places, if there is no such height - to climb a tree. All objects capable of holding a person in water are used (logs, boards, wooden doors, barrels, car tires, etc.) Remember! In flooded areas, do not eat food that has come into contact with water and drink unboiled water. In any case, do not be angry, do not panic, act quickly, but be calm and confident! Pay attention to the speech messages of the management bodies for JSC and TJ affairs!
