Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia Dauren Abayev participated in the All-Russian scientific conference "Economics of the Great Victory".

The event was organized by the Voluntary Economic Society of Russia (EVS) as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The conference was attended by leading scientists and experts, representatives of legislative and executive state authorities, educational and business community.

Opening the meeting, Sergey Bodrunov, the president of the ERC, noted that any war, including the Great Patriotic War, is a war of economies and technologies. According to him, during the war, the spiritual strength of those who stand at the machine, deliver products, and save people is recognized. In this regard, Kazakhstan made a great contribution to the victory, he continued.

The ambassador noted that Kazakhstan has become the main base of light and food industry production. "The evacuation of more than 220 industrial enterprises to Kazakhstan was a powerful impetus for the development of industry and the production of non-ferrous metals. 670 thousand people were mobilized to work in these areas of the economy. Thus, during the war, Kazakhstan became an industrial center on the Victory Road. Economic achievements, self-sacrifice of people, scientific and cultural progress - all this had a great influence to achieve common Victory. The memory of those days unites our people and reminds us of the strength of unity and cooperation during trials," noted D. Abaev.

During the event, its participants discussed the main factors of the economic victory, the experience of the mobilization economy and the management mechanisms of the scientific and industrial complex during the war years, the economic importance of lend-lease, and the achievements of scientist-economists during the war years. According to the results of the meeting, it was noted that the Soviet economy was able to quickly adapt to military needs in a difficult situation. It was the result of the mobilization of all resources and the heroism of millions of people who, despite the odds, did everything they could to achieve Victory.
