A solemn meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Chemistry and Metallurgy named after Zh. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the school of chemistry and metallurgy, outstanding scientist-chemist and metallurgist, talented writer, translator and literary critic Yevnei Buketov. His life and activity were a vivid example of the synthesis of science and literature, which was full of challenges and at the same time full of achievements.

One of the important developments of the scientist-chemist was the study of methods of complex use of manganese and iron ores, as well as the extraction of arsenic from copper electrolyte, which gave a new impetus to the mining industry of Kazakhstan. His method of separation of elemental phosphorus was known as the Boketov-Baeshev method and greatly simplified production processes. This event became a platform for kind words and memories about his contribution to science.

Students and colleagues shared their memories of how Evnei Arstanuly's ideas inspired them in their research. "He was a real beacon in the world of science," the Council members noted.
