Specialists of the Department of Emergency Situations of the East Kazakhstan region monitor the condition of rivers using unmanned aerial vehicles. The use of drones allows for quick monitoring of river traffic, identification of possible traffic jams and timely measures to prevent floods. Aerial photography from drones provides a clear understanding of the ice situation even in hard-to-reach places, which significantly increases the effectiveness of preventive measures. Based on the results of the research, specialists assess the risks and, if necessary, take additional efforts to clean the channels and prevent the risk of flooding.
