The ombudsman and the governor of Akmola region signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of human rights protection

Artur Lastaev, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov during his working visit. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of protection of citizens' rights and signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The document is aimed at strengthening the interaction between the ombudsman institute and regional authorities. Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties agreed to conduct joint work in several important areas: organizing the reception of citizens, rapid information exchange on complaints, holding round tables and educational events on human rights. This is very important. Such a constructive approach contributes to the creation of a fair society where the rights of every person are respected and preserved," said Artur Lastaev.

Marat Akhmetzhanov emphasized the importance of joint work in effectively solving problems that violate the rights of citizens.

"Providing favorable conditions for the development of the human rights protection system is one of the important directions of state policy in Kazakhstan. I am confident that cooperation will be effective in the field of protection of human rights, freedom and interests and restoration of violated rights and interests of citizens," said the regional akim.

Also, the parties discussed the need to increase the legal literacy of the people and hold legal education events. The ombudsman stated that one of the main tasks of his office is to pay special attention to educational work.

The signing of the memorandum was an important step towards the strengthening of human rights protection mechanisms in the region and formation of channels of effective interaction between citizens, government agencies and human rights organizations.
