The Department of State Revenues in Kyzylorda region informs the participants of foreign economic activity that from January 1, 2024, the state revenue bodies will be given the currency control function within their competence. Amendments were made to the relevant Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 167-VI dated July 2, 2018 "On Currency Regulation and Currency Control".
If the amount of the contract exceeds the equivalent of 50,000 thousand US dollars, the foreign exchange contract for export or import is subject to accounting registration. If the amount of the contract is not indicated on the date of the foreign exchange contract, then such contract is considered as a contract subject to account registration.
The exporter or importer applies for an account number to the second-level bank serving him before the execution of the obligations under the foreign exchange contract for the export or import of any of the parties. If the repatriation period has expired, and the amount of non-resident's obligations under the currency contract exceeds 50,000 US dollars equivalent, the materials will be sent for consideration of the issue of initiating a case under Article 235-1 "Illegal export, sending and transfer of foreign currency values ​​of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Republic of Kazakhstan". (or) failure to comply with the requirement for repatriation of foreign currency" shall be subject to an administrative case under Article 251.
