Students of East Kazakhstan took part in the action of setting up nests for birds within the framework of the "Clean Kazakhstan" program

New nests for local birds were installed in the Bobrovka forest near the regional center.

"Hello, birds!" Students of several schools in the city took part in the city ecological and ornithological action. Also, representatives of the Regional Natural Resources and Nature Management Administration participated in the educational event and expressed gratitude for the contribution of young people to environmental protection.

According to the organizers, this is one of the most important measures aimed at preserving biodiversity in East Kazakhstan. In addition, the campaign aims to revive the ornithological movement in Ust-Kamenogorsk schools. These measures are proof of what the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said about "Clean Kazakhstan" in his address to the people of Kazakhstan. This initiative was able to unite students and unite them around the idea of caring for native nature.

- In general, we hold such actions several times throughout the school year. For example, students take part in the "Let's help the birds" campaign, install their own nests on trees and take care of them. Throughout the month of March, they make nests for birds such as black grouse, sparrowhawk, and red-tailed hawk, and place them on trees in the school grounds. The final field meeting of this action is being held today. Such environmental initiatives have been regularly organized in the region for the past 15 years. This can be said to be a continuation of the work started by young naturalists. And for the last five years, with the support of the Regional Department of Natural Resources and Nature Use Regulation, we have been holding this campaign in Tarkhanka, Bobrovka, and Uskemen forest districts. Such activities contributed to the gradual increase in the number of birds in the region. In addition, the interest of schoolchildren in ornithology has increased. This trend is also widespread among children in rural areas. For example, the youth of the village of Bobrovka are actively participating in today's event, says Elena Kulikova, specialist of the "Education-Research Ecobiocenter". Most of them are high school students. Among them is Zhania Zheksembayeva, a 9th-grade student of Gymnasium No. 38 in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

- This is the first time I am participating in the action of making nests for birds. It is a special joy for me to install a nest made by my own hands on a tree. After that, I plan to actively participate in measures aimed at protecting nature. In general, in the future I want to connect my life with the field of ornithology, - says the young nature lover.
