The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia

At the office of the Institute of Human Rights, Artur Lastaev, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprys.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current issues in the field of human rights protection, cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, as well as the prospects of cooperation in the direction of development of civil society institutions and legal education.
"For Kazakhstan, cooperation with the European Union is one of the priorities in the field of human rights protection. We attach great importance to the introduction of advanced international practice into the national law enforcement system and effective exchange of experience," noted Artur Lastaev.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to implement joint initiatives aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties and protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
