In the city of Shchuchinsk, the biathlon competition of the VI Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan has ended. Athletes from 9 regions of the country took part in the competition. Medals were awarded in sprint, grazing, individual competitions and relays.

The team of Akmola region won the overall team score at the end of the competition. Karaganda region is in second place. The people of Pavlodar were third.

The biathletes of the Olympic training center for winter sports won the podium three times at the 6th Winter Sports Games of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the prize-winners, the sportsmen participated in relay races as part of the teams of their regions. Evelina Mezentseva and Alema Karabaeva, representatives of Abay region, won silver medals in the women's relay. Egor Grebenshchikov and Artem Afanasyev from East Kazakhstan took the third place in the men's relay. The SKO team, consisting of Sofya Unzhakova and Artem Afanasyev, won bronze in the 2+2 mixed relays.

We remind you that the Biathlon Games of the Republic of Kazakhstan started on March 26 at the base of the Olympic training center for winter sports. The best athletes of Kazakhstan fought for the title of national champions.  These competitions were a selection for the national teams before the start of the Olympic cycle - the Olympics.
