The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone Kabba Timothy Musa. During the negotiations, the possibilities of deepening the economic and agricultural cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

Aidarbek Saparov noted that the agro-industrial complex is one of the most rapidly developing sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan. In 2024, thanks to timely measures and favorable weather, we harvested a record 26.7 million tons of grain, including about 20 million tons of wheat. Opening new export markets and strengthening bilateral relations in the field of agriculture remains one of the main priorities for Kazakhstan. We hope for fruitful cooperation with Sierra Leone," said the minister.

Kabba Timothy Musa emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector for the country, especially in the context of global instability, climate change and increasing threats to food security.

"We believe that cooperation with Kazakhstan in this field will increase the efficiency of our agricultural sector and contribute to ensuring food security in Sierra Leone. We are ready to accept the best practices and technologies of Kazakhstan, to actively cooperate in the direction of ensuring food safety," he said.

At the end of the meeting, Aidarbek Saparov expressed confidence in the successful implementation of joint projects in the fields of agriculture and food safety.
