At the meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, measures for the development and digitalization of the tourism industry were considered. At the National Congress in March of this year, attention was paid to fulfilling the tasks of the head of state on the development of the Shchuchinsk-Burabay resort region. Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov announced that the comprehensive plan for the development of the said resort area for 2025-2029 has been approved and is being implemented. The plan is aimed at large-scale development of tourism, transport and engineering infrastructure of the region.

"The plan conceptually includes activities for the development of new places: resort "Akbura", tourism areas around lakes Katarkol and Jokei. The priority of implementation of 34 engineering and transport projects was defined. As a result, 400 kilometers of water supply, drainage and heat supply systems, 116 kilometers of power lines and 80 kilometers of highways will be reconstructed and built,"- said the mayor.

In 2025, 3.5 billion tenge were allocated for the infrastructural development of Burabai resort, including:

➤ 0.7 billion tenge - from the republican budget,
➤ 2.8 billion tenge - local from the budget.

The Shchuchinsk-Burabai resort region was designated as one of the three tourism centers in the country and remains the main resort of the region.
