🔶Representatives of the Ministry of Health spoke about the new mechanism of drug pricing

A new drug price regulation mechanism will work in Kazakhstan. Reengineering the process of drug registration by simplifying and automating the procedures will allow to shorten the period of drugs' entry into the market. According to Yerzhan Nurlybayev, Vice-Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the basis of price setting for medicinal products is to obtain information from reference countries. These sites were presented by the WHO, so there is no doubt that this information is correct and recommendations are needed for their use," the speaker said at the press conference held at the site of the OKC.
In addition, IP information of related state bodies is used.
"We use alternative information for objective pricing, because the pricing is based on customs clearance of goods, data on transport and logistics costs, etc. information will be obtained," Yerzhan Nurlybayev said.
In the new mechanisms of formation of threshold and premium prices, it is planned to reduce the price of generics by 30% from the price of the original medicine.
