"School is a sacred place that forms an individual personality and true love for their native country in them. Pupils who attend lectures at the center of education have a great future and they should be happy," Bakytzhan Sagintaev said in his speech before the teachers' association of the city.

In his speech, the mayor said that a decision was made to provide one-time financial assistance to all young professionals who have graduated from pedagogical universities and colleges and are about to start their careers in public schools of Almaty. This year, 700 young teachers will receive grants in the amount of 20 months' worth of budget funds.

"This is a small help, but I am sure that this first step will be an important symbol of support for the pedagogical community of the city," noted the mayor of Almaty. The annual traditional awarding of 800 organizations will continue. Today, the winner will receive a prize in the amount of 24 million tenge.

It should be noted that the best pedagogical teams of the city are given cash prizes every year. special grant of the mayor of Almaty is given to teachers. It is up to the teachers themselves to develop its Rules, nominations, criteria and to determine to whom it should be given.

In order to increase the status of the teaching profession, a large-scale information campaign will be organized in the city, during which the media will write about the best teachers of the city, best educational practices and cases. This event contributes to the formation of the correct vector of development of the education system for the society.

Almaty akim informed about the new and annual "Úzdık ustaz"("Best Teacher") competition and its results will be published on the eve of Teacher's Day from 2020. The winners will be given an apartment, a car and other valuable gifts as an incentive prize.

"The teacher is the main person in the field of education, so we should raise the status of this profession, which is very important for society," said B. Sagintaev.

Currently there are about 32 thousand teachers in Almaty.
