The Head of State Receives the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency
17.04.2025 16:45:41 4365➤ President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Askhat Zhumagali and was briefed on the country’s anti-corruption measures.
➤ Results of the first quarter of 2025:
🔵 521 corruption-related crimes registered;
🔵 257 officials exposed, including 141 of various leadership levels;
🔵 366 criminal cases submitted to court;
🔵 KZT 15 bln in damages recovered for the state;
🔵 Since 2022, asset recovery has totaled KZT 1.13 trln;
🔵 KZT 21.2 bln in inefficient public spending was prevented during procurement monitoring.
➤ Fostering an Anti-Corruption Culture:
🔵 Nearly 3,000 events held under the “Law and Order” and “Adal Azamat” initiatives, reaching over 450,000 people;
🔵 The “Anti-Corruption Volunteering” project is being implemented;
🔵 The Agency continues its cooperation with the League of Academic Integrity at the country’s leading universities.
➤ International Cooperation:
🔵 Active engagement with the OECD, GRECO, and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA). In February 2025, the Agency joined IAACA’s Executive Committee.
➤ Corruption Perceptions Index:
🔵 According to Transparency International’s 2024 results, Kazakhstan scored 40 points, ranking 88th out of 180 countries.
📌 The President instructed:
✔️ to continue efforts in preventing corruption offenses, dismantling entrenched corruption schemes and fostering a culture of integrity in society.
