During the 7th meeting of the Heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the SCO member states in Dushanbe, negotiations were held between Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Tajikistan Jamshed Karimzoda.

During the meeting, Alikhan Smailov noted that the productive cooperation between the two institutions reflects the high level of Kazakh-Tajik relations based on the principles of friendship, trust and mutual respect.

“We highly appreciate the established partnership between the supreme audit institutions of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan,” said the Chairman of the SAC.

He stressed that cooperation is conducted not only on a bilateral basis, but also through international organizations. In particular, within the framework of the Working group on the Development of State Audit Standards for the CIS countries, which is chaired by the Supreme Audit Chamber.

Alikhan Smailov also informed about the ongoing changes aimed at strengthening the state audit system in Kazakhstan. Among other things, the SAC was given the right to audit local budget funds and review the audit results of all other audit bodies in the republic.

"Currently, we are also focused on digitalizing our activities and improving state audit methods and practices. In this regard, we will be glad to share our experience and knowledge with the Accounts Chamber of Tajikistan," said the Chairman of the SAC.
