A guilty verdict has been delivered in the capital against three individuals who, from 2022 to May 2024, operated a mining farm disguised as an engine processing center, consuming electricity comparable to the monthly needs of a residential district in a major city.

The value of illegally mined digital assets amounted to more than 143 million tenge.

During a search, authorities seized 1,257 ASIC miners (equipment used to mine digital assets), industrial cooling fans, and a transformer substation.

The court found them guilty under Article 214, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, and imposed a fine as punishment.

Property worth over 900 million tenge was confiscated by the court in favor of the state, including two vehicles (“Toyota Camry” and “Nissan Juke”) as well as the mining equipment.

In addition, the court ordered the recovery of criminal proceeds amounting to 143.2 million tenge.

The verdict has entered into legal force.
