A delegation of businessmen from Zhejiang Province, People’s Republic of China, visited Akmola Region at the invitation of the regional administration. The purpose of the visit was to develop investment cooperation.

In the city of Kokshetau, Deputy Akim of the region, Yernar Zharkeshov, discussed with the delegation a number of projects in the fields of industry, e-commerce, and logistics. Zhejiang is an important province in the People’s Republic of China, with its capital Hangzhou, which hosts the headquarters of technological giants such as Alibaba, DingTalk, and others. It is also the province with the highest number of other major private Chinese companies investing abroad.

The Chinese side expressed interest in utilizing the region’s infrastructure as part of the Middle Corridor of the Trans-Caspian route. Special attention was given to the “Aqmola” industrial zone of national importance, which the guests highly appreciated and consider as a site for establishing production facilities.

The regional administration provided details about investment preferences and conditions for foreign companies in Kazakhstan and confirmed its readiness to fully support investors and create favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects. Both sides are considering cooperation in the format of sister regions.
