Anti-corruption School: the role of ethics commissioners in combating corruption

As part of the implementation of the "Law and Order" narrative, as well as in order to provide methodological assistance to ethics commissioners on anti-corruption issues, the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the East Kazakhstan region organized and conducted an "Anti-Corruption School". The event was attended by ethics commissioners of akimats of cities and districts, regional administrations, as well as territorial divisions of central government agencies. The school's work was aimed at improving the competencies and strengthening the role of the Institute of Ethics Commissioners in the anti-corruption policy of the state. Asylkhan Ashikov, First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Service Department of East Kazakhstan Region, delivered a welcoming speech and a keynote speech. In his speech, he explained in detail the topic "The role of ethics Commissioners in combating corruption: principles, tasks and effectiveness", focusing on the importance of a systematic approach and the active participation of ethics commissioners in preventing corruption. Darkhan Khairullin, Deputy Head of the Department of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan for East Kazakhstan Region, Head of the Ethics Council Secretariat, highlighted the problems and ways to solve them in the activities of ethics commissioners in the prevention of corruption among civil servants, emphasizing the need to constantly improve the level of ethical culture and the introduction of modern methods of prevention. Mira Bekkuzhina, Ethics Commissioner of the regional Akim's office, paid special attention to the issues of ethical discipline and the involvement of young professionals in public service, focusing on the role of mentoring and the formation of moral guidelines for novice civil servants. Zhanar Bukanova, Director of the East Kazakhstan Branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, completed a series of speeches. She presented the topic "Anti-corruption awareness. The formation of an anti-corruption culture among civil servants," noting that the formation of sustainable anti-corruption attitudes should begin with the personal responsibility of each employee. Following the results of the anti-corruption school, all participants were awarded certificates confirming their participation in the training. Such events contribute to strengthening the institution of ethics commissioners and the formation of an effective system for preventing corruption in public administration.
