Regional Philharmonic named after D.Rakisheva Taldykorgan hosted the first Republican contest of traditional singers «SUNKAR  EDIM  IN THE DESERT, SULTAN EDIM ELDEGI IN THE LAND» dedicated to the 140th anniversary of poet, singer and composer Pyshan Zhalmendeuli, who contributed to Kazakh literature and musical art.

   Artists from the regions of the republic and the cities of Astana, Almaty, Taraz, Taldykorgan took part eyn the competition.

The purpose of the contest is to preserve and popularize the creative legacy of poet, singer-musician Pyshan Zhalmendeula, introduce new performers in the genre of traditional songs, establish creative contacts and exchange experiences among performers. To strengthen and develop the creative abilities of singers, create conditions for support, and improve the professional level and skills of performers.

Amre Aryn is a poet, member of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the International Literary Award "Alash", chairman of the jury.

Ermurat Usenov is a member of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, teacher of the Kurmangazy National Conservatory, composer.

Alpysbayev Ali Demegenuly is an Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Union of Composers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professor, composer, conductor.

Ardak Balazhanova is an Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a traditional singer, teacher.

Nurzhan Zhanpeisov is an Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, associate professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.Zhurgenov, teacher, traditional singer.

Following the results of the competition, having won prizes, they were awarded with diplomas and letters of thanks.
