Belarusian industrialists are interested in strengthening business partnership with Karaganda region. A large delegation from the Gomel region, including government employees and heads of enterprises, arrived in Karaganda to develop ties. Prospects for interregional cooperation were discussed at a meeting with Akim of Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.

"Belarus and Kazakhstan share a common history, deep historical and cultural ties that continue to develop and strengthen every year,– Ermaganbet Bulekpayev greeted the guests. – As you know, our region is an industrial region. Large mining enterprises are concentrated here, as well as non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, mechanical engineering, food, light industry, construction industry and energy. We supply products to 50 countries around the world, including the Republic of Belarus. There is a basis for cooperation, and we are ready to work on mutually beneficial terms.

The head of the region spoke about the conditions created for investors in the Saryarka SEZ and the Saran industrial zone.

In turn, the guests presented a video demonstrating the capabilities of Gomel enterprises.

Ivan Krupko, Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, stressed that Kazakhstan is one of Belarus' strategic partners and ranks third after Russia and China in terms of foreign trade.

– Over the past five years, the volume of trade between the Gomel region and Kazakhstan has increased by one and a half times. I think we can do more for our peoples, for our people, if we find common ground that will be mutually beneficial. I hope our meeting will yield good results in the development of interregional cooperation," said the head of the delegation.

Meat and dairy products and agricultural machinery are mainly supplied from Belarus to the local market. According to Ivan Krupko, there are opportunities to create joint ventures for furniture production.

Gomel enterprises also offer equipment for farmers.

Karaganda residents were invited to the economic forum, which will be held in Gomel in September.

The meeting ended with the signing of a memorandum on interregional cooperation between Gomel and Karaganda regions.
