On April 11, a working meeting was held at the site of the “Zhak tau” Metallurgists’ Trade Union between the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Svetlana Zhakupova, and representatives of trade unions.

The event was attended by members of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Department of the State Labour Inspectorate Committee, local executive authorities, occupational safety experts, and members of the public association "Uaqyt" (an organization of regressive invalids who lost their health working in hazardous and dangerous industries).

During the meeting, current socio-labour issues faced by workers in the industrial sector were discussed. Proposals were developed to update the list of occupations eligible for special social payments. It was also instructed to carry out calculations for the social support of regressive invalids in order to prepare a budget request for 2026.
