Kazakhstan-Japan round table held in Tokyo

Tokyo, April 17, 2025 - the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken” and the Japanese Business Association «ROTOBO» with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Japan held a round table dedicated to deepening bilateral economic cooperation.

Ambassador Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev opened the meeting by updating the attendees on current affairs and the potential for bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, economics and investment.

Akira Terakawa, Special Advisor of «Marubeni Corporation» and Co-Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Japan Committee on Economic Cooperation, affirmed that Japanese businesses are interested in deepening their economic ties, pointing out that bilateral trade remains stable despite global market volatility.

The Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan Murat Karimsakov introduced the country's investment climate and policies that ensure stable project conditions and mentioned the role of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Atameken» in promoting foreign economic activity.

Deputy Director General of the Japanese Business Association «ROTOBO» Miki Wajima shared her vision of the prospects of multifaceted business cooperation between Japanese and Kazakhstan companies. The event was attended by managers and representatives of corporations «Sumitomo», «Mitsubishi», «Inpex», «Sojitz», «Toyota Tsucho», «Nissin», «Itochu», «Mitsui» and «MUFG Bank».

During the visit to Japan the Kazakhstan delegation also held meetings at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Japan External Trade Organization and Japan International Cooperation Agency.
