A meeting with the representatives of the OSCE Program Office in Astana has been held at the Supreme Judicial Council.
A meeting of the Chairman of the Council D.Malakhov with the Acting Head of the OSCE Program Office in Astana Yu.Fenopetov has been held in the Supreme Judicial Council. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss upcoming joint events within the framework of the OSCE project "Improving the effectiveness of the justice System in Kazakhstan." Special attention was paid to the development of judicial education, including the arrangement and holding of the intensive legal training to prepare potential candidates for positions of judges.
In his welcoming speech the Chairman of the Council D.Malakhov outlined the Council's sustained commitment to the principles of transparency, improvement of procedures for the selection and training of judges, and also noted the key role of personnel policy in ensuring the effectiveness of the judicial system.
In turn, Y.Fenopetov marked the high level of collaboration with the Supreme Judicial Council, emphasizing the successful bilateral cooperation in previous years, and introduced the team involved in the implementation of the project. In the meeting also took part the members of the Supreme Judicial Council E.Begaliev and A.Aituarova, Deputy Head of the Office of the Council L.Kurmantayeva, Chief of the Judicial Education and Qualification Examination Division A.Kaizhakparova, Director of the Center for Academic Programs and Projects of the Academy of Justice under the Council M.Abilova, as well as the representatives of the OSCE Program Office in Astana — National Coordinator for Legal Affairs E.Oralova and the project administrator A.Tazhanov.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
