“Save Water – Save the Future” Republican Open Lesson

On April 18, 2025, schools across East Kazakhstan region joined a countrywide initiative aimed at raising environmental awareness and encouraging water conservation “Sudy unemde – bolashakty sakta” (Save water - save the future). Open lessons were held for 1st to 9th graders of the region.

       Serikzhan M. Beketayev, Director of the Water Policy Department of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in an eco-lesson at Secondary School No. 46 of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, involving 348 students of grades 9 to 11. During the lesson, he stressed the importance of responsible water usage. The program of the event included not only lectures about ways to save water, but also hands-on demonstrations:

* high school students presented methods of purifying polluted water;

* demonstrated a working model of a drip irrigation system designed to conserve water during farming;

* presented social media campaigns to raise eco-awareness;

* created thematic posters about the rational use of water resources.

     This initiative is being implemented on behalf of the Head of State within the framework of the National Action Plan for Implementing the Address to the People of Kazakhstan “Fair Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Public Optimism.” The open lessons were held at all schools of the region, reaching 86,437 students.
