Today, many promising initiatives are being implemented in our district to develop agriculture. Especially for regions engaged in irrigated farming, the efficient use of water resources remains one of the top priorities. Therefore, the introduction of water-saving technologies in agricultural lands is highly relevant today.

In this regard, the application of modern technologies such as drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and smart irrigation systems presents a significant opportunity. Moreover, our government currently subsidizes 80% of the costs associated with implementing water-saving technologies. With this goal in mind, District Akim Bakhyt Asanov met with Mr. Fun Zu, head of the Chinese company "Bazhou Xincai Group," to discuss projects related to the introduction of these technologies.

Currently, in cooperation with the Chinese company, work has begun in the Enbekshi rural district to implement water-saving irrigation on 100 hectares of land owned by LLP "ZhuldyzKomTorg" for cotton cultivation, and on 34.86 hectares owned by the "Erezhepova" farming enterprise for rice cultivation.

"Considering the natural conditions and economic direction of Maktaaral district, the introduction of water-saving technologies is a requirement of the times. By using water efficiently, we can elevate our agriculture to a new level and improve the region’s socio-economic condition. These technologies not only save water but also help enhance the quality of produce. For example, drip irrigation allows water and fertilizers to be delivered directly to plant roots, creating optimal growing conditions and increasing yields. Additionally, it reduces soil erosion and helps limit the spread of weeds," said Bakhyt Nasyrkhanuly.

It is worth noting that currently, 89 farming enterprises in Maktaaral district, managing a total of 4,895 hectares of agricultural land, have expressed interest in adopting new technologies. Of this, 1,300 hectares have already submitted applications to receive state subsidies. Furthermore, since the beginning of the year, water-saving technologies have been introduced on 2,186 hectares of melon and cabbage crops, and work has now begun to implement these technologies on 129.4 hectares of cotton and 35 hectares of rice.
