Kostanay was decorated with portraits of heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Now the front-line soldiers are looking at the residents of Kazakhstan from bus stops, billboards and buses.

The photos show famous Kazakhstanis and natives of Kostanay at the front. A QR code is applied next to the portraits. You can use it to go to the website with the full list of war heroes and learn more about their biographies and their frontline path.

"These are Kazakhstani heroes Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Aliya Moldagulova, Rahimzhan Koshkarbayev, Talgat Begeldinov, as well as Kostanay heroes Leonid Beda, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Ivan Pavlov, Sultan Baymagambetov, Ilya Syanov and Seitkhan Temirbayev."

31 Kostanay citizens were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Two of them twice. Nine more veterans became Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory.
