Course Toward Cooperation: Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan at Europol Headquarters

The Hague, April 22, 2025 – A meeting was held at the headquarters of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) between the Kazakh delegation, led by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Sadenov, and the leadership of this prominent international organization.
Deputy Executive Director of Europol, A. Linz, welcomed the high-level guest on behalf of Europol’s Executive Director, Catherine De Bolle, who was on a working visit. He provided an overview of the coordinating work being carried out by the EU's main law enforcement agency among member states in combating international organized crime and facilitating information exchange between national police services.
Senior representatives of Europol’s operational units present at the meeting gave a presentation to their Kazakh colleagues on the agency’s main areas of activity aimed at combating terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking, and other serious transnational crimes.
The importance of Europol's cooperation not only within the European Union but also with international partners was emphasized, particularly in the context of threats to public safety and human lives.
A key outcome of the visit was the mutual confirmation of intentions to continue and strengthen contacts between Kazakhstan’s law enforcement agencies and Europol, including the exchange of information. The Kazakh side also stated its commitment to continue working toward accession to the European Convention on Cybercrime.
