Prospects for interfaith cooperation between Kazakhstan and India had been discussed in Mumbai

Mumbai, April 24, 2025 – Chargé d'Affaires of Kazakhstan to India Mr. D.Seitenov, during a meeting with the President of the “Somaiya Vidyavihar University”, Shri Samir Somaiya, presented an invitation from the Head of State H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions (17-18 September 2025, Astana), in which Shri S. Somaiya has been participating as the head of the Hindu delegation for many years.
During the negotiations, Shri S.Somaiya expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. K.Tokayev for the invitation and assured of his obligatory participation.
In addition, the Indian interlocutor was conveyed an invitation from the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Mr. M.Ashimbayev to the II Forum of Young Religious Leaders (18 September 2025, Astana), and the parties also agreed to develop interfaith cooperation between the countries and hold a number of events in India in the foreseeable future, mainly initiated by the Secretariat of the Congress and “Somaiya Vidyavihar”.
